In the Supermarket Parking Lot, Fires Burning in the Distance
Susan L. Lin
Hair grieves, I discover,
          when the breeze blames me,
          when the seas frame me,
when the teas, still packaged, drain me.

Pears leave & I take cover,
          when the trees flame me,
          when their pleas came free,
when the peas, still frozen, shame me.

                    As even the smoke flees...
          the woods bake me
          & I swallow their pain:
          I wallow in their veins.
